I tend not to make resolutions on New Year's. After all, I was not born until April so
my new year doesn't start until then. (Why yes, I am a bit self centered.) Last Monday, as you may or may not have noticed by looking at my sidebar, I decided to start exercising. I am attempting to do the
30 Day Shred for 30 days and will be updating my thoughts daily on the sidebar under
Exercise won't kill me. I am not doing this to lose weight, so I am not changing my diet besides cutting out the daily cocktails and beers. I just want to be a bit stronger and more toned. So far I have stuck with it longer than I have ever stuck with an exercise 'program'. I hate exercising, but realize that it is something that I really need to do for myself. Last spring, I cut out an I'm-not-incriminating-myself bad habit and this winter has been so much easier for me ( I believe) as a result. I am hoping that exercise will make me feel that much better.
Looking back at
last year, I realized that I accomplished all my knitting goals except finishing that fish afghan. It tried to become a baby blanket last year, but I could not for the life of me attach a border that I liked. Maybe this year all those little fishes will make a baby cozy. Besides the fish, I have one project from 2008 that needs to be finished -
The Lovely Lacy Shawl. I am using the border from
this shawl and in doing so I have added 15 rows to my shawl. That translates to almost 15 more hours of knitting...
Also this year I would like to
re knit Lemonade and rewrite the pattern.
Unfortunately, I have to do this from scratch since both
Magknits and my computer that had the pattern saved on it died last year. I started over yesterday (since I am not feeling the lacy shawl) and have most of the waistband finished.
I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous year!

Happy New Year to you! I haven't made any resolutions involving exercise (urg!) but I've been good about limiting my alcohol intake to the week-end... Baby steps.
Good luck!! I too do Bday year resolutions than New year resolution - I can't compete with everyone, I have to be the star...I think its the Taurus in me.
I start a cardio kickboxing class on Monday...I'm already dreading it and it's a week away. I guess I prefer not to leave my house to excercise, but if I stay home I procrastinate too much.
I really like your Lemonade pattern and look forward to the rewrite!
I have Lemonade printed out from Magknits. I can scan it tomorrow and email it to you if you like.
You go, girl! I'm making a half-assed attempt at fitness but damn if I can't give up dessert. :-)
